Their goal is not the unmaking of all life but the establishment of Elven supremacy and the end of the Age of Man; they intend to rule a world stripped of human divinity rather than dissolve it entirely. This is why they deliberately prolong conflicts like Skyrim's Civil War; a fractured Empire cannot threaten Dominion hegemony, and every Talos shrine destroyed weakens humanity's faith in its own divinity. As documented in their own Thalmor Dossiers, they focus on intelligence gathering regarding the suppression of Talos worship and strategic political maneuvering rather than erasing historical records.
